Dreaming is the easy part. How do I execute & get results?
Today is the 2nd of January,2026, and I'm sitting alone in a dark room, listening to a worship instrumental play on my sound system as I write this article.
A few minutes before now, I was laying on my bed wondering how I'm going to achieve the plans I have for this new season.
I'm a big dreamer…always have been.
I'm hardly ever scared of thinking outside the box but overtime I have learnt that dreaming is the easiest part.
The real feat is execution and implementation.
While I kept pondering on the how, I heard him say:
God typing:
“You're making the same mistake.
You're asking the wrong questions.
You see with me, you must realize that it is important to ask the right questions. If you ask the wrong questions, two things are bound to happen;
1. You'll get no response
2. You'll get a false response (not from me)
At the beginning of a new month, year or season, many people become absorbed in doing & having new things, be it starting a new business, stopping a bad habit, learning a new skill, buying a new house or car or gadget…
The list goes on and on…
Am I against these things? Absolutely not.
As the Bible rightly says, I delight in the prosperity of my people. (See Psalm 35:27)
But truth be told, majority of the times my people hardly hit their goals because they go about it the wrong way.
How?
Like I said earlier, by asking the wrong questions.
Most of them come to me in prayer, some even with fastings, asking things like:
“What do I do Lord?”, “I want this car. How do I get it Lord”, “Where do I go Lord?”, “When do I start Lord?”
They make requests and ask questions in that regard but hardly do I find anyone asking the right question.
Now, you're wondering, “What then is the right question?”
Before I tell you, let me explain an obvious truth that most people know but always forget.
Life functions on the premise of the principle of “cause and effect”
This means that the results gotten are usually a product of a precedent action taken.
Now, the idea of doing and having are examples of a desired result. In other words, they are effects not the cause.
Wisdom states that to sustain the presence of an effect, you must find the cause and then fulfill it's demands.
That just means, if at the beginning of a new year or a new season, you come to me with questions of what to do and how to get what you want, you're asking amiss and the possibility of you getting an accurate answer from God is slim.
Again you are wondering, “So, what then is the right question to ask?”
I'll give you a universal equation that would serve you for a lifetime and can be applied to any given situation.
Becoming = Doing = Having
What I am saying is that knowing what to do & how to have what you want becomes the natural, effortless result when you have first figured out “who to become”
Listen, every phase of your life will require a different, more upgraded version of your identity.
To do different things and have different results, you must first become a different person.
It all starts with becoming.
Listen, if you truly want to thrive under my rulership, you must understand my methods of operation.
I never start working from the outside in.
I furnish the insides, such that whatever you see on the outside is a natural product of everything I have done on the inside.
So in this new year, you'll be doing yourself a disservice asking the same questions as everyone else.
In this new year, your first concern should be:
“Lord for this next season, who am I to be? Who am I to show up as?”
When this part is sorted out, doing the right thing and getting the right results become inevitable.
Capiche?”
Practical steps you can start with:
- Spend time in prayer: Now, i'm not referring to your regular “Everlasting father, eternal rock of ages, ancient of days…in Jesus mighty name we have prayed…” type of prayer.
This refers to taking out time & space to intentionally wait on the Lord in prayer and probably fasting too about this matter.
You can be sure that if you go to God in prayer with the right questions, he'll answer you.
"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'' Jer.33:3(NKJV)

- Spend time with God's word: There's something my Pastor always says “God will not do anything outside of his word”
Understand that the word is the material for our transformation as Christians.
It holds the blueprints for all our lives and so if you're looking to unlock a certain phase of your identity, it should be your go to.
Your podcasters and YouTubers are nice but they didn't make you, so expecting them to give you accurate information about how to navigate the next season of your life is honestly quite stupid…

- Take action: The Bible puts it excellently; Faith without work is dead (add scripture)
After making your discoveries and learning what the blueprint for your next season looks like, you must begin to take actions like a crazy person.
This is actually what produces the result. When you have clarity and direction, start running.
Do not be afraid. If God said it then he will do it.

Your goals will be easier to achieve when you use what has been made available for you.
Knowing what you know now, there's no reason why you should fail. You have no excuse.
What you know now, can get you what you want. You just have to apply it.
