Dear God, Give Me Audacity Or I Die!…
It's 4am, I just finished praying and then the story of David comes to mind…
The Lord had asked me to do something before today, and I said he should give me a sign first, else I will not do it…lmao
And just then, it occurred to me,
“Which sign did David see before taking on Goliath?”
“Which dream did he have?”
The guy didn't even hear any voice that said
“Oya go now, I'm sending you!...”
His Daddy just sent him to do delivery work, then he heard Goliath and he thought to himself, “I can kill this man nau”
I was studying this passage in 1 Sam 17 and a lot of things were going through my mind…like,
“What was David thinking?”
“How come he wasn't afraid of Goliath’s size?”
“Was he born naturally courageous?”
“Abi did he smoke something that the bible forgot to mention?”
Because see, it is not normal for a teenager, who is absolutely inexperienced in battle, to look at a man 5 times his size and think that he can kill him…
It is also not normal for a teenager to chase and kill a lion or a bear. It is not normal!
What did David have? What was sponsoring his giant-killer mentality?
As I ruminated on these thoughts, it dawned on me.
It is simply AUDACITY!
I don't like to assume, so I went to look up the meaning of the word in the English Dictionary:
As I sat with this thought, I also realized that this wasn't peculiar to just David. There are many other case studies:
Moses was standing before the red sea and the Lord said to him “stretch forth your rod over the sea…”
Have you seen a sea before? It is very big!
But Moses, having never seen or heard of anyone who had parted a sea before, dared to believe that with his ordinary rod, the Lord could do the extraordinary. (See Exodus 14)
Then I remembered his protégé Joshua, this guy actually looked at a whole sun and thought to himself “If I command it, it will obey me…” (See Joshua 10)
Then I remembered Samson too, he dared to believe that as one man, he could fight & kill a thousand trained soldiers. He didn't think about their number, he didn't think “what if they chook me sword…?” (See Judges 15)
He was too busy believing to be considering…
I also remembered my favorite bible character, Elijah.
Do you know what it means to challenge a whole nation, over 500 prophets & the government of the day?
God didn't tell Elijah to call down fire.
It had never been heard that someone called fire and it came. But Elijah dared to believe that if I tell fire to come down, it will obey. (See 1 Kings 18)
I also didn't forget my gender…The Pretty Queen Esther.
The Bible describes her as an orphan girl who was adopted by her uncle.
First of all, she dared to join a pageantry of thousands of women believing she could actually win & become Queen.
Then after she won, she dared to defile the laws of the land.
There was no assurance of her safety but she said “if I perish, I perish” (See Esther 2 & 4)
You know, it is easy to read their stories in retrospect and not understand the level of audacity it took for these people to do the things they did because now, you know how the story ends.
But remember that they didn't…
There was no 100% assurance that what they were attempting would work, but they had the audacity to believe and then do it anyway.
In biblical history, I found a trend in the type of people God likes to work with. They all have one thing in common:
It's not about backgrounds, it’s not about gifts, it's not even about perfection.
The common denominator connecting all these stories of faith & exploits is in one word; Audacity!
This morning, I realized that God doesn't want perfect people, but he is desperately in need of audacious men and women.

He said:
(God typing…)
“I am tired of the dreamers and the talkatives who are always blabbing about everything they intend to do without ever starting anything…
I am sick of the ones who boast about their long hours of prayer & deep rhemas, but lack the spine to follow through with an instruction.
I am mightily disgusted by the ones who latch onto fear like an armor and refuse to step out because they are uncertain of the possible outcomes.
I have a question for you:
Do you think David was certain while he was running with that sling and a stone in it?
Do you think Esther was sure that when she stood before the king, he wouldn't kill her?
Or have you not heard of Jonathan and his servant?
The Israelites were being oppressed by the philistines, no one could defeat the enemy, but then Jonathan said to his servant
“Let us cross over to their camp to fight, maybe the Lord will help us…” (See 1 Samuel 14)
All Jonathan had was “a maybe” and that was enough for both of us to work together.
You on the other hand, you have a word of prophecy, a bible and even the gift of tongues and yet no one is more afraid than you.
At the sight of a challenge, you shake like a puppy drenched in cold water.
You consistently embarrass me with your inability to just attempt the impossible.
These men and women had their lives on the line and yet they put themselves out there…
You, I haven't even asked you to risk your life and yet you're trembling like a frail chicken.
You have deceived yourself with your tags and you have convinced yourself that you are limited.
You wear useless labels like a badge of honor and celebrate your weakness like it's an award…
You parade the descriptions that encourage your timidity;
“Oh, I'm naturally shy..”
“Me, I'm introverted…”
“My background is the problem…’
“I'm afraid of the unknown…”
“What will people say about me…”
“Oh, I have low self-esteem…”
“It's my childhood trauma…”
Again, I have a question for you…
Have you not heard that there is a spirit in man? (Job 32:8)
Do you not understand the nature of what you carry within you?
Have you not heard that it was this same spirit that alighted upon David after he was anointed by Samuel? (1 Sam 16:13)
Did you not read that this same spirit would come upon Samson, he would shake himself and then go to slaughter his enemies? (Judges 15:14-15)
Are you not aware that even your Jesus would have still been rotting till now, if this same spirit had not excavated him out of the grave? (Rom 8:11)
This limitless being lives inside you and yet he is limited because of your unbelief and fearfulness.
Listen carefully, unless you start actively working on changing immediately, you can as well forget about destiny.
The dreams and promises I have shown you will require a certain level of ruggedness and "mental instability" to fulfill them.
This fearfulness will kill you even before the battle begins and your constant hesitation will ruin you in the long run.
Unless you change, you'll remain unfit to participate in the next wave of revival that is coming heavily upon the earth.
Unless you change, I cannot use you!
Everyday you cry to me for the blessings I have promised…
What makes you think you can handle the warfare that comes alongside it?
You beg me to send down rain…
Do you not know that rain comes with mud? Are you prepared for that?
Answer truthfully!
Do you possess the inherent capacity to sustain that which you so desperately desire?
If you were me, would you commit true riches to you?
With this your level of unseriousness?
You scream, “The nations are coming to me…”
To come and hear what? English?
No, Because when was the last time I saw you really study your Bible?
You shout, “Gentiles are coming to my light…”
Do you not know that the fire required to cause the burning and the shining is generated in the place of prayer?
When was the last time you really waited in the place of prayer?
You have become a busybody. A working class. A professional.
You have become so busy doing “the work”, that you no longer have time for The Word.
Like Martha, you keep running around trying to do everything you think I want instead of coming to sit at my feet, so I can tell you what I have planned.
You are too busy working for me, you no longer have time to walk with me.
But this was not how we started…
You used to love it here.
You used to tell me how much you want to be with me.
You used to say nothing else matters except the love that we share.
Who has deceived you?
What is distracting you?
You need to figure this out and come back to your first love while you still can.
The audacity you're looking for is right here in my presence.
Remember the now revered apostles were once ordinary, unschooled men.
But the Bible said that when people saw their boldness, they described them as “men that had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13)
Something about walking, listening and talking to Jesus for 3 and a half years altered their physical, psychological, and spiritual state forever.
It is only you that thinks you can "become" outside my presence.
Remember Peter who was too afraid to identify with Jesus at a time (Mark 14:66-72),
...later became the one who boldly preached a message that caused 3,000 people to believe…(Acts 2:14-24)
What happened to him?
Jesus gave an instruction that they wait for the helper.
The Bible says, “while they were gathered, they heard a loud noise like the sound of a mighty rushing wind, and then the Holy Ghost fell upon them…” (Acts 2:1-4)
The same people who were hiding in fear, stepped out with boldness and began to preach the Gospel.
Your absence from my presence is what permits the presence of fear in your heart.
Listen, there is something in you that has the ability to kill lions, defile systems and part seas like the people of old, but that thing must be trained…in my presence.
It must be nurtured into maturity through the instrumentality of prayer, the word and practice.
Emphasis on practice!
It doesn't matter how many hours you pray or how many rhemas you receive, if you don't do something, you won't see anything.
I have many children who like to simply pray and study...
Their journals are full of plans and good intentions but because of their lack of action, they never see results.
Don't be like them.
Exempt yourself from the rest Sofia.
Tell yourself, “I will pray, study, plan & act”
Don't be an empty gong who nobody, including Satan takes seriously anymore.
The angels are tired of your talk. They are waiting for you to step out in faith and with the word, so they can back you up.
Remember Elisha, he had given a prophecy and had technically said:
“By this time tomorrow, the famine will be over…” (2 Kings 7:1)
Four lepers who were sitting at the gate, they didn't have fancy titles, in fact they were shunned, unqualified and unassuming…
But they were the ones God used for the fulfilment of that prophecy. Why?
Because they had the audacity to act. (See 2 Kings 7:3-20)
The king heard the prophecy, other nobles heard it too, but none of them did anything about it.
The Bible said the moment these four lepers started moving, the enemies heard the sound of an army advancing and they all fled.
There is angelic backing for the assignment you've been given but it is only activated when you start.
The provision is available but it is waiting for you to make a move first.
You must understand that audacity is not the absence of fear. No!
It is the ability to attempt the impossible despite the fear that you feel.
Your fear is not big enough to stop you.
There is greatness on your inside. It is like a mighty river waiting to be let loose.
There is a dimension of God you carry waiting to be birthed on the earth.
Creation aches to see the manifestation of the God that you are.
The world is begging to see me through you.
But It only happens when you START!

It's really simple!
The first step is getting Born Again...
Jesus is the only begotten son of God.
He lived, died and resurrected so you and I can have the luxury of salvation.
To be Born Again, you simply have to believe this in your heart and now make the confession below with your mouth out loud. That's it!
Are you ready:)
“Dear heavenly father, I believe in Jesus Christ, your son. I believe he died and was raised again for me. I believe he is alive today and I confess with my mouth that from today Jesus is the lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I am a child of God! I am Born Again! Glory to God!”
If you said the prayer, congratulations!
