Typography: Have You Ever Noticed That It Is Easier to Read Text Written in Italics?

I only paid attention to this recently while I was skimming through an article… I realized that the sentence written in italics grabbed my eyes and I read it with more focus. That was interesting to me so, as usual I decided to do a little digging and guess what... Turns out, there’s actually a science behind it Here's what I discovered: Italic text stands out basically because it breaks the rhythm of what your eyes are used to. Most of what we read is in regular, upright font.  So, when your eyes meet something slanted or “off the grid, ” your brain takes a micro-pause.
